  • The 8.3.MCV06 and current signatures take more memory than the previous engine version.
  • 8.3.MCV06 patch increases the memory limit from 512 MB per scanner to 700 MB per scanner.  Firewalls with smaller memory (4 GB or less) should be evaluated to see if a configuration change in the number of scanners may be needed.  For more information, see Knowledge Base article 19481.
882838 882831 MCV02/MCV03MCV04Issue:
  • When MCV02 is installed on Firewall Enterprise 8.3.x, the Engine Version is shown as 5400 instead of 5600. Also, when MCV02 is uninstalled the Engine will show as 5600 when it should show as 5400.
  • When MCV03 is installed on Firewall Enterprise 8.3.x, the Engine Version is shown as 5600 instead of 5700. Also, when MCV03 is uninstalled, the Engine Version will show as 5700 when it should show as 5600.
Workaround: Execute the following command through the command line interface (CLI): vscanupdate -I
