Problem Description

I'm receiving "FTP Error Connection Reset by Peer" when using FTP in Command Prompt, File Explorer, an application such as Putty or FileZilla, or in a browser. FTP is correctly configured in the Content Gateway, however the browser stays in a loading state and eventually times out.

Resolution

When receiving the FTP reset error:

  1. Check to see in the content gateway logs located in /opt/WCG/logs that you are receiving the following error:

“ERROR: ARM Manager: Origin server IP not found for transaction”

  1.  In Forcepoint Security Manager (formerly TRITON Manager), under Settings > Network Agent > N Interface IP > Proxies and Caches, enter in the IP of the Content Gateway Proxy. On an Appliance, the IP to enter is the P1 interface.
