Problem Description

The customer block page log does not appear when using a V Series appliance. I followed the details in the v7.5 Appliance Manager Help document, but the custom logo still does not appear.

Important This information is available to administrators with existing Web design skills. Forcepoint Technical Support is unable to provide support for customizing block pages. Always back up the block page directory before modifying file content

Resolution

The information in this article supplements pages 35-38 in the v7.5 Appliance Manager Help document which applies to v7.6 to v8.1.Review v7.6 TRITON - Web Security Help for additional information.

For 8.2 and 8.3, review Custom Block Pages and Change the Block Page Logo.

For 8.4, review  Custom Block Pages and Change the Block Page Logo.

The default path for the Websense logo, is referenced in a custom block page file called master.html. You will need to modify the logo path to look into the Custom directory; where you will save your custom logo.

For v7.5 to v8.1:
  1. Log on to the Appliance Manager.
  2. Click Administration, click Toolbox, and then click Web Security Block Pages.
  3. Download the master.html file to your desktop.
  4. Right-click and click Edit with Notepad.
  5. Press CTRL+F and tocate the path for the logo.
    1. For example, <div><img title="Websense" src="/Images/wslogo_block_page.png
  6. Change the file path from /Images to /en/Custom. or example:
    1. For example, div><img title="Websense" src="/en/Custom/hdr.gif
Note There have been cases seen where the custom path was src="/Custom_tmp/hdr.gif" instead of src="Custom/hdr.gif".

Important Links are case sensitive, they must match name exactly. The word Custom makes the browser check the directory the image was uploaded to, rather than the Images folder.
  1. Save your changes and close the file.
  2. In the Appliance Manager Toolbox, delete the existing master.html file from the Custom Block Page folder.
  3. Upload the following files:
    1. The edited master.html file.
    2. Your custom image.
    3. Any other edited pages.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompt to restart the Filtering Service.
  5. The new block page logo will appear.
